APC Nasarawa West: Appeal Court reserves judgement on order for fresh primary
The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday, reserved judgement in the appeal challenging the nullification of the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by a Federal High Court, Lafia.
The court had on November 2, 2022 nullified the APC primaries for Nasarawa West and ordered the conduct of a fresh election within 14-days from the day of the judgement.
After listening to arguments from counsels representing the various parties, Justice Muhammed Danjuma, reserved judgement on the matter and the date for the judgement would be communicated to the parties involved.
Labaran Magaji, aspirant in the election had taken the party and Shehu Tukur, the purported winner of the election to court alleging irregularities during the primaries.
Speaking to newsmen after the sitting, Damian Dodo, (SAN), counsel to the appellant, said his client had approached the court challenging the judgement of the Federal High Court Lafia.
He said that they filed all that was required of them before the Court of Appeal and believe that it would deliver justice at the end.
He added that they want the court to set aside the judgement of the Federal High Lafia and uphold the primary election of the party in Nasarawa West.
On his part, Ghali Ahmed, counsel to the respondent said they had adopted all the briefs they filed before the court and expressed optimism that they will still get justice at the Appeal Court.
Also reacting to the sitting, Labaran Magaji, said the court would deliver justice to correct the injustice done to them during the APC Primaries in Nasarawa West Senatorial District.Follow me on:
