APC Northern Women Caucus harps on voter registration
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Northern Women Caucus have called on women who are yet to register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to do so before the closing date.
Various leaders of the group made the call on Friday in Lafia at the inauguration of advocacy campaign to mobilise women in the north to get their PVCs ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Mrs Zainab Ibrahim, Deputy National Woman Leader said the advocacy became imperative because without PVC nobody would be allow to participate in the process of electing new set of leaders in 2023.
“The campaign is to reorient women to register for PVC, those who register and have not collected should go and get it.
“It is also aimed at sensitising women to desist from election violence and contribute towards electing candidates of their choices in 2023,” the National Deputy Woman Leader said. Mrs Zainab Ibrahim also called on Nigerians to vote for Bola Tinubu, APC Presidential candidate given his performances as Governor of Lagos State.
She explained that Tinubu had done well as a governor and if elected as the next President, he will transform the country, fix the security issues and make the economy of the country the strongest in Africa.
Zainab Ibrahim also called on the people of Nasarawa State to re-elect Governor Abdullahi Sule for second term given his achievements in the last three years.
Similarly, Zarah Audu, North-Central Woman Leader of APC called on women and other Nigerians to register and collect their PVCs to enable them vote in the forthcoming election.
She called on Nigerians to vote for the Presidential candidate of APC in February 2023 for a secured future.
On her part, Hadiza Rufai, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, lauded the group for the advocacy and pledged to partner any groups fighting for the rights of women.
