2023: PDP will restore Nigeria’s lost glory – Bauchi Gov
By Faith Awa Maji, Katsina
The Governor of Bauchi State and PDP Presidential aspirant, Senator Bala Muhammad said voting PDP in the 2023 general election will certainly restore the lost glory of Nigeria.
He made this known while in an interview with newsmen shortly after meeting with the Katsina State delegates and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina to canvass support in the forthcoming presidential party’s primary in Abuja
Senator Muhammed observed that Nigeria which was once the envy of other countries, especially Africa Continent is currently facing several challenges include battered economy, insecurity, and suspicion among its citizens.
He noted that Nigeria despite little resources, past leaders still managed to govern effectively, and they achieve a lot, wondered why present leaders got it wrong that led to collapse of many sectors.
The Bauchi Governor, however, said following his antecedent as a Minister, civil servant, journalist and Governor, assuring that he is committed to fix Nigeria again, if given the opportunity to be country’s next president.
According to Gov. Muhammed “I am here in Katsina canvassing for delegates to choose wisely, and I told them my mission and vision for Nigeria, the problems of Federation, the perception problem, the insecurity, the battered economy and the need for inclusion to remove nepotism, mistrust and suspicious, the need for love and fraternity, to live and let’s live. To make sure we choose wisely, people like us who have cognate experience. I have gathered a lot of experience, I have passed through all the mills of preparedness to lead with humility and I have done it in FCT, I am doing it in Bauchi, I have done it as a civil servant and as a media man.
” I understand the country, I respect the people from the diversity that we have, and I appreciate our diversity and understand it very well. We need to manage scarce resources, we need to create inclusion, to create love, to redeem our national and self-esteem that we have lost as largest most populous African country that have lost all its past glory. We have to be ashamed of ourselves so that we can come together. Our leaders in the past used little resources, little knowledge, and they have done so much but certainly, everything has been deteriorated.
“We need to come back together and wake up. We need to choose wisely people that have the antecedent and pedigree and the capacity with the number, with the statistics, and they have done it, they have been tested, and they can still do it.
“Power comes from Allah and as a democrat who believes in that, whoever gets this power, I hope it will be me, as a democrat maybe if it is not me, whoever gets it, I will support him” he said.
Earlier, the acting PDP Chairman, Katsina State, Uil Salisu assured Bala Muhammad of their unflinching support during the party primary.Follow me on:
